Overprinting 101
October 27th, 2008 by dru

Here’s my entry for this years CD101 calendar poster contest extravaganza. The judging isn’t until the November 1st gallery hop so I don’t know if I’ll even make the final 20 yet. I figured since I have no shot of winning I might as well try my hand at something new, a 4-color PMS job with some overprinting. I’ll be amazed if it looks right when I get it back from the printers. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Well I don’t expect to win these things. They are not design contests, they are popularity contest. Personally I think that the posters closest to the voting box tend to have the most votes. However, I am starting to worry about people’s aesthetic tastes.
Here’s what I lost to this time (first, second, and third place):

No disrespect to the designers out there - but #2 is @ss.
I hate it.
